Leg 01Muscat → Dubai · 480 km
Sunrise on the Omani coast road. Full charge, tyre pressures set for 44°C tarmac, and a convoy escort from the Oman chapter to the UAE border.
Leg 02Dubai → Riyadh → Amman · 2,050 km
The real test: 150 km gaps between chargers, heat soak on the pack, and a lot of coffee. Riyadh members mapped every working CCS2 stall in advance.
Leg 03Amman → Istanbul · 1,700 km
Asia to Europe at blue hour. First stop where the car found a public network it recognised without a workaround — and the first curious crowd at a charger.
Leg 04Istanbul → Vienna → Berlin · 2,100 km
Regen down the passes, first sub-zero night of the trip, and a full log of consumption at altitude that we shared straight back to the community.
Leg 05Berlin → Copenhagen → Oslo · 1,070 km
Finish line in the EV capital of the world. 7,400 km, zero drivetrain faults — a working case for why Xiaomi should launch globally, and in the Gulf.
No dealer network, no Arabic manual, no local FAQ. So we wrote one.
HyperOS for Car build tracker, English UI setup, map mirroring and safe updating outside China.
Charging errors on CCS2 networks, heat warnings, projection dropouts and infotainment freezes.
Owner-rated adapters, sun protection, interior kits and OEM parts — plus open group buys.
Member cars and trips from Dubai to Al Ula, plus recaps from the monthly chapter meets.
Every photo comes from a member's own car, registered somewhere in the Gulf.

Chapter meets run monthly. Bring your car, questions and a spare adapter.
Evening meet with adapter testing and a charging-route swap.
Coffee meet, firmware Q&A and group-buy pickups.
West Bay basement meet — cool cars, cooler parking.
Joint chapter drive, announced in the community chat.
Straight answers from owners who already went through it.
As of now Xiaomi has not opened official retail in the GCC. Most cars in the community are privately imported through China-based exporters or regional grey-market dealers. Always confirm homologation and registration rules with your local traffic authority before shipping.
HyperOS for Car ships with Chinese and English; Arabic UI is not available on China-spec units. Built-in navigation is China-only, so most owners in the Gulf mirror Google Maps or Waze from their phone via CarPlay-style projection or the community-tested app sideloads listed in the Software section.
Owners report the thermal management holds up well, but expect 10-18% range loss with A/C at peak summer. Precondition while plugged in, park in shade or basements when possible, and keep the state of charge between 20% and 80% for daily use.
The GB/T DC port needs an adapter for CCS2 chargers used by DEWA, EVIQ and Kahramaa. Community members maintain a tested adapter list in Accessories. AC charging works with a standard Type 2 adapter on most home wallboxes.
There is no factory service network yet. The community tracks independent EV workshops in Dubai, Riyadh and Doha that handle diagnostics and bodywork, plus insurers that accept imported Chinese EVs. Check Troubleshooting for the current shortlist and typical lead times on parts.
Yes. MiEV Gulf is a volunteer-run owners community. Everything here — guides, firmware notes, meetups and the parts network — is free and maintained by members.
